Oliver, Boy, 2 years old
Introducing the incredibly sweet Oliver, a purebred Cardigan Welsh Corgi! This beautiful 2 year old boy was brought to us as a surrender that unfortunately, has had quite a rough start in his life. Among a number of things that may have happened with him, we know that he was very neglected. We believe he may have spent a good portion of his beginnings confined and limited as to where he was able to move and was fed very poorly and not exercised. This has caused him to have some health issues such as being a bit over his ideal weight and he has had to have some extensive dental surgery and teeth extractions just recently. He has healed well from the surgery.
Oliver is currently in the safe care of one of our experienced fosters who is taking really good care of him and getting him on a proper diet, exercise and follow up vet checks. He is house trained, neutered and all his vaccinations are up to date. He is not good with cats and is ok with other dogs and good with people. It is however, best that Oliver would ideally be the only animal in the home as he needs a lot of attention and can be jealous and act out. Only experienced and tolerant dog owners will be considered if there are other dogs in the home.
In the short time Oliver has been with us we have seen that he is very eager to adapt and please. He can be incredibly submissive and a little 'careful' at times and will tuck his body down if he is approached too quickly or sudden movements toward him, such as arms being raised fast. Oliver responds very quickly and positively to gentle calm hands and energy.
A home with excitable young children or a really busy home may not be a good fit for him.
Whomever is the fortunate one to become his forever home will be the luckiest person on the planet because he will be deeply loyal and loving forever.
